What shouldn't we bring when we pack for the week-end?

Please leave your pagers, cell phones, and televisions at home.  Please do not bring any alcohol.  Plan to focus exclusively on your relationship with your spouse.

Can I bring children to a National Marriage Encounter week-end?

Please make baby-sitting arrangements in advance.  The Marriage Encounter weekend is a special time just for you and your spouse.

Do we have to belong to a certain denomination or religion to register for National Marriage Encounter?

Couples of all faiths are welcome to register for National Marriage Encounter weekends.  The facilitating couples will present short talks based on Christ-based principles.

How is National Marriage Encounter different from other Marriage Encounter organizations?

If you do some internet research, you will find that other Marriage Encounter organizations offer denomination-specific weekends.  National Marriage Encounter is different in that while we offer Christ-based talks, we encourage people of all faiths and denominations to attend our week-ends.  National Marriage Encounter is not associated with Worldwide Marriage Encounter. 

Are encountering couples expected to dialogue with each other in front of a group?

No.  All dialogue between you and your spouse will be in private. Only the facilitating couples will present talks in front of the whole group.
